As I celebrate my 17th birthday, I thought Iād talk you through some of the steps I took to get ready for the day. A little diary entry, if you will, combining two of my favourite things at the moment; writing (nothing ever changes), and indulging in a little bit of beauty and fashion.

Excuse the chips, but I painted my nails on Saturday using the Barry M sunset nail paint in the shade āIāve been pinkinā. Itās a stunning pink shade, the perfect ode to the summer months.

I cleansed using the Liz Earle cleanse and polish. Oh, what a cliche beauty blogger! But, in all honesty, I do love this one!

The first product in my makeup routine was the Max Factor facefinity primer. I have oily/combination skin, so a primer is a must.

My foundation of choice was the Bourjois healthy mix. This featured in my Top 5 drugstore foundations post because itās one of my favourites at the moment, especially as I seek a healthy summer glow.
A little helping of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer was a welcome relief to cover a few of my blemishes.
As for bronzer, my pick was the Soap and Glory Solar Powder ā a must to bring a little bit of warmth to my pale skin.
To lock everything in place, and to try to keep those oils at bay, I applied a little dusting of the Maybelline Fit Me Powder over my T-zone.

Oh, I do love a bit of sparkle. So, for my eyes, my pick was the shade āCrĆ©me buleeā which is a nice shimmery gold colour from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I only opted for one shade since I wanted to keep things nice and simple.

The Bourjois colour boost lip crayon in āpeach on the beachā was my choice for lips, in an attemp to channel those summer vibes.
As for my hair, Iām privy to braiding it when itās slightly damp before I go to bed and hope that it results in some nice waves in the morning; luckily it did just that today.
Last, but never least, is my outfit.
I went for a simple pairing; starting off with a cold shoulder lightweight top from Topshop, paired with some dark blue skinny jeans courtesy of New Look, completing the ensemble with a beige floppy hat from Topshop ā we donāt do things by halves around here people.
That was just a little entry from me today. Thank you so much for all your lovely birthday messages, your kindness didnāt go unnoticed. The day came complete with some lovely family time, a spot of shopping, not forgetting the delicious cake!
