My morning routine

Hello everyone and welcome back to My Blurred World.

I hope you’re all doing well.

Today I thought I’d share a post about my morning routine. I was quite skeptical to write this post seen as it’s such a popular post/video within the blogging/youtube community and all posts/videos I’ve seen have seemed to be quite similar. But I am here writing it for you today as I have recieved quite a few requests for this particular post and I always take your requests into account.

I hope you enjoy today’s post and without further ado let’s begin.

I want this post to be as realistic as possible as I feel like a number of the ‘morning routine’ posts are quite similar, therefore I’m going to attempt to write this post in as much detail as possible.

The first thing I do when I wake up is go down stairs, take my medication and then make myself some breakfast. I tend to alternate between the breakfasts I eat therefore I’ve decided to include three of my favourites to share with you today.

On a typical week day when I need to attend sixth form my breakfast consists of some cereal and a glass of cranberry juice. This is a quick and easy option for me and is perfect for those days where I might not have much time to get ready in the morning.

(Photo description : photo shows the breakfast I’m about to describe below).

If I have some extra time I will prepare a bowl of granola with some chopped banana or some raspberries on top. I personally love the ‘Nature’s path’ gluten free granola as the taste is divine and it’s the perfect way to start my day.

(Photo description : Photo displays a bowl of porridge with some fruits on top, read below to find out more about this).

If I have enough time in the morning I will prepare myself a bowl of porridge. To make my porridge I put about two or three tablespoons of oats into a saucepan and then I add some milk (I can’t tell you how much because it depends on how much oats i’ve used). I know this doesn’t sound like the most organised of systems but it works for me. I prepare my porridge on a low heat and let it simmer for about five minutes before distributing it into a bowl. I then add some granola, a chopped banana, raspberries and blueberries on top to give the porridge some extra flavour.

After eating my breakfast I will head back up stairs and if I’m not in a rush I will check my social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Following this I will go ahead and brush my teeth, and will then change into my desired outfit for the day.

(Photo description : Photo displays some of my favourite makeup products that I wear on a daily basis, I talk more about each product below).

The next step in my morning routine is applying my makeup for the day (if i choose to wear any that is).

On a typical school day the only makeup prouducts I will wear is a primer and a foundation. My primer of choice is the Soap&Glory ‘One heck of a blot’ primer and I pair this with the Bourjois healthy mix foundation. I don’t believe that makeup is completely necessary for school and I am aware of the fact that many schools don’t allow it but I am personally very self consious of my skin therefore i feel much more confident when wearing foundation.

If I’m going anywhere other than sixth form then I might apply some eyeshadow. I have not yet ventured into creating amazing eyeshadow looks therefore I only tend to apply one shade. One of my favourite eyeshadow palettes is the Too Faced chocolate bar palette which includes some stunning shades ranging from matte to shimmery colours therefore this is the one i tend to reach for when wanting to wear eyeshadow.

After completing my desired makeup look I then move on to hair. I like to think that I’m quite creative when it comes to creating hairstyles therefore I don’t wear the same haristyle every single day as I like to try a different look. One of the hairstyles I’ve been wearing lately is a french braid. I find that the french braid is a simple but yet elegant hairstyle and it doesn’t take too long to create. But as I said I wouldn’t wear this on a daily basis as I do like to alternate between the kind of hairstyle I go for.

As I wear glasses I make sure that I clean them daily therefore this is the next step after applying my makeup and doing my hair.

I will then apply my perfume of choice for the day. Two of my favourite perfumes lately have been the Taylor Swift Incredilbe Things perfume and the Elizabeth Arden Always Red perfume.

I will then grab my bag, head out the door and go about my day.

Well that concludes my morning routine post everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it. Do let me know what you’re morning routine consists of. Also do let me know if you have any blog post requests as I always love hearing from you.

I hope you’re all having a great week so far and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you so much for reading, be sure to join me next time in My Blurred World xox
